Home Firearm Safety          
Length: 4 hours          Cost: $75 per student, contact for family pricing

This is an introductory course designed for individuals new to the shooting sports as well as families that have guns in the home and would like all family members to have a basic understanding of firearms.  Included is basic firearms safety and introduction to rifles, shotguns, pistols, and revolvers.  Students will load & unload various actions for each firearm type, learn about the different types of ammunition and gain an understanding of how they work.  Gun cleaning, proper storage, and care are also covered.  This is a non-shooting course that is appropriate for all family members aged 12 and up. Family pricing is available. 

Basics of Pistol Shooting Course - Instructor Led        
Length: 1 day          Cost: $95 per student

This is the preferred course for those seeking a Maine concealed carry permit.  This course teaches the fundamentals of pistol shooting.  This includes familiarization with different handgun types, actions, parts, operation, ammunition, and skills appropriate for responsible ownership, as well as safety and range etiquette. This course concludes with time at the range and hands-on shooting of several different types of handguns (guns and ammo provided).

Basics of Pistol Shooting Course Phase 2 - Online
Length: Online and 5 hours of combined classroom and range          
Cost: $60 to the NRA for Phase 1; $75 to WMF&T for Phase 2 

This course is the online version of the Basics of Pistol Shooting Course.  It is broken up into two phases.  Phase 1 in conducted online by going to https://onlinetraining.nra.org and completing the module.  After completion, you will receive a PIN code to sign up for Phase 2, which is conducted in our classroom at the range.  Use the PIN code at  http://nrainstructors.org/searchcourse.aspx to sign up for a course.  The NRA will mail your book to you and you will print out the Phase 1 completion certificate.  After completing the Phase 2 portion, we will provide you with a completion certificate.  This course can be used to satisfy the requirements for the Maine carry conceal permit. 

Personal Protection in the Home Course
Length: 1 day          Cost: $95 per student
This course is the next step after Basic Pistol.  This course teaches basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety, responding to a violent confrontation, firearms, and the law, and choosing the right handgun and ammunition for self-defense use. Students should bring their own carry handgun and 150 rounds of factory ammunition (no reloaded ammunition) or make prior arrangements to use our equipment (eye and ear protection are free to use, pistols may be rented for the day for $5).  This course requires basic handgun proficiency as a prerequisite.  
 
Advanced Personal Protection Outside The Home Course 
Length: 2 days          Cost: $175 per student
Think of this course as 'Concealed Carry 101.'  The course covers essentials that must be mastered in order to carry, store, and use a firearm as a defensive tool. Advanced shooting skills and techniques are covered for the safe and effective use of a concealed pistol for self-defense in the real world. This course is appropriate for all armed professionals as well as serious civilian-carry personnel.  After a half-day in the classroom, students should expect to spend the remaining time on the range, shooting  300 rounds of ammunition.  This is an advanced level course which requires NRA Personal Protection in the Home Course as a prerequisite. Students are expected to have their own carry firearm, strong-side hip holster, and factory ammunition (no reloaded ammunition) for this course. Basics of Pistol Shooting and Personal Protection in the Home, as well as a regular routine of practicing firearms shooting, safety, and the desire to carry concealed, should be strongly considered before entering into this course.

Basic Rifle Course
Length: 1 Day          Cost: $95 per student

This course teaches the fundamentals of rifle shooting.  This includes familiarization with different rifle types, actions, parts, operation, ammunition, and skills appropriate for responsible ownership, as well as safety and range etiquette. This course concludes with time at the range and hands-on shooting of several different types of handguns (guns and ammo provided).

Basic Shotgun Course
Length: 1 Day          Cost: $95 per student

This course teaches the fundamentals of shotgun shooting.  This includes familiarization with different shotgun types, actions, parts, operation, ammunition, and skills appropriate for responsible ownership, as well as safety and range etiquette. This course concludes with time at the range and hands-on shooting of several different types of handguns (guns and ammo provided).   

NRA FIRST Steps Rifle or Shotgun Course  
Length: 4 hours          Cost: $75 per student

Firearm Instruction Responsibility and Safety Training
These introductory courses are designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling of the common rifle or shotgun types.  The course is conducted in the classroom and at the range to shoot.  Students will learn safe gun handling, gun operation, ammunition basics, shooting fundamentals, and proper cleaning & care.  Cost includes everything: student handout package, use of guns & ammunition, and course completion certificate.  
 
NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) Course  
Length: 1 day          Cost: $150 per student
This course is intended for those who need the training and certification necessary to conduct and supervise range exercises.  Course topics include roles & responsibilities of an RSO, range standard operating procedures (SOPs), range inspections, range rules, range briefings, emergency procedures, and dealing with firearms stoppages and malfunctions.  This course is conducted in the classroom and involves a range portion with live firearms.  Firearms and ammunition will be supplied as well as all student materials.
